I'm a female vocalist looking to join a band, preferably country, but I can sing pretty much anything. I've been singing and performing my whole life, mostly in local community theaters. But I've also been writing country songs since I was 17. I probably have a dozen or so songs and they're actually pretty good. My problem is that while I can sing just about anything and I'm great at coming up with melodies and lyrics, my ability to play and actually write it down on paper is limited. My formal composition skills are lacking. So I'm looking for someone who can collaborate and add the instrumentation to my vocals. My biggest influence in country style has definitely been Sugarland and Jennifer Nettles. I love mixing classic country with a little pop/ rock, a little jazz, and even a little musical theater thrown in. Like her, I have a huge belt and I am very confident and comfortable improvising and manipulating my voice. I've trained in classical/ opera/ Musical theater vocals for over 2 decades now and I'm very aware of what sounds best and how to make some killer country while still using proper technique and protecting my voice.
