QC Green / File Under Foliage

My name is Quincy-Claudia, but you can call me QC or Quinn. I'm a passionate songwriter/composer with intermediate knowledge of music theory. My work is somewhat eclectic and I don't write to fit into any specific genre(s), but as of late I largely take influence from 60s-90s pop/rock styles such as progressive pop, psychedelic, post-punk, new wave, synth-pop, indie pop, and alternative rock. I'm not reluctant to incorporate sounds or techniques from various other genres as well. Always trying to be catchy and/or compelling, I tend to focus very heavily on melodicism and often utilize modal mixture/borrowed chords.

I'm an amateur vocalist with rudimentary keyboard skills. I'm looking to work with any of the following: Instrumentalists, particularly guitarists, bass guitarists, and drummers, but keyboardists and beyond are welcome as well. Audio engineers and producers, with knowledge of sound design, arrangement, and mixing/mastering. Other vocalists and composers would be great to work with too!

I have a project called File Under Foliage for which I upload self-produced demos and song ideas to Bandcamp. I'm looking for people who enjoy my style to join it or start a new band with me. I want to focus on recording my/our original songs, I'm not particularly interested in covers or live performances at this time, but I'm open to having my mind changed!

My favorite artists and musical inspirations are XTC, They Might Be Giants, R.E.M., Talking Heads, MGMT, Paul McCartney, Tame Impala, Red Vox, Pink Floyd, Tally Hall, Justice, and Fantastic Plastic Machine.
