Hey All! Guitar player here!! I live in Fallbrook, CA I started playing when I was about 13 years old (1994). My sister bought me a very crappy Walmart-like nylon string guitar an I attempted very hard to play Fire Garden by Steve Vai on it. That was interesting... Although I've tried several times to take classes with private tutors and taking online courses, everything I know has been self taught. This applies to everything else in my life: I'm objective oriented and a very fast learner. I eventually got into electrics and been playing them since then. I was also part of a few bands while living in Buenos Aires, Argentina (where I am originally from), with one of them having some success and playing in front of 5200 people. One of the best experiences in my life! And I want more of it. A few years ago I decided to try my hand at playing bass (mostly because of John Taylor's bass in Duran Duran's music) and I fell in love immediately. I love playing guitar and I'll never stop playing. On the other hand, because of my guitar playing background, playing bass feels natural and I enjoy it a lot. I play a mix of finger picking, pick and slap, depending on the song. I have been very inclined to use effects on what I play on guitar all my life, and I'm slowly trying to figure out the best way to use this on my bass playing as well. About my musical preferences... I pretty much love everything from mid 70s til early 2000's. I've been a 80's purist all my life, but as I grow older I've learned to listen to music I'd despised before, and I actually like plenty of it now! With the exception of two big no-no bands (and this may be my ticket out of any band before even getting in LOL - Led Zepelin and Guns 'n Roses), or dull music in general (you know, where the bass only plays 3 notes the whole song...) I pretty much open my ears to every style. I can learn and will play any song you can imagine. And I won't quit until I do. I can sing harmony and backup vocals, my register is bass (sometimes baritone). My beautiful Argentinian accent is complimentary :P Prefer originals, unless is a tribute to a band I love. Speaking of, here are some of my influences: Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani, Def Leppard, Steve Vai, Metallica, Megadeth, Fleetwood Mac, Duran Duran, Phil Collins, Genesis, Hall and Oates, Power Station, Scorpions, Michael Schenker, MSG, Dio, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Yes, ELO, Stevie Wonder, Kool and the Gang, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Saxon, Quiet Riot, Tesla, Journey, Steve Perry, Whitesnake, The Cars, A-ha, Van Halen, David Lee Roth, .38 Special, The Police, Sting, David Bowie, Simply Red, Billy Idol, Bobby Caldwell, The Outfield, Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, Men At Work, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, White Lion, Europe, Kiss, Boston, Pat Benatar, Primal Fear, Alanis Morissette, Uriah Heap, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, Bryan Adams, Survivor, Loverboy, Rod Stewart, Crowded House, Depeche Mode, Alannah Myles, Take That, Fools Garden, Bloc Party, Oasis, Blur, Morrissey, Steve Winwood, Spandau Ballet, Kenny Loggins, Cheap Trick, The Cure, The Romantics, Tracy Chapman, America, Heatwave, Poison, Paula Abdul, Helloween, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, bôa, Bruce Dickinson, Cheap Trick, The Cure, Daft Punk, Jamiroquai, Judas Priest, Lacuna Coil, Kiss, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, Toy Dolls, Mago de Oz, Charly Garcia, Pedro Aznar, Seru Giran, Queen, Roxette, Rush, Virgin Steele... and I'm probably forgetting a lot more.
